What you receive here at the beginning of the game is not necessarily good or bad. Nothing is final. For example, a hand with two aces and two kings looks excellent. And yet, in this variant of poker, it can be beaten and even fairly easily.

What we will try to determine in the course of the game is which hands are good, but more importantly, which hands “potentially” can become good? In order to do this, one must consider the different phases of the game in turn.

First step: The flop

At this stage, it is recommended to lie down if you do not have a very strong hand. By this we mean anything above a suite. A small suite may still be sufficient, but not below that. That would be a big mistake.

On the other hand, if a pair is on the board and you don’t even have a three of a kind, give way, you have little chance of coming out victorious from such a situation.

Now, if you hit a full house, the profile of the other players will determine your action. With calling-stations around the table, don’t hesitate: go, go, go! If you are playing against beginners, always remember that they will continue to bet until the extreme limit, even if the full house is clearly visible.

But beware, your full house may be a small full house, so it could be beaten by a bigger one. To determine what kind of full house you have, pay close attention to the betting patterns of your opponents.

Step Two: The Turn

If you finish a straight at this stage, go for it, bet the maximum… or almost. You still need to make sure someone else is betting!!!

Third step: The river

If it is on the river that you touch the hand you are looking for, a good strategy to recommend is to alternate betting and check-raise. This allows you to both win a little money and, more importantly, it can blur the lines in the eyes of your opponents, who will never really know what your decisions are hiding.

So, let’s say it again here, you have to be patient when playing Low Limit Omaha poker, because situations can change very quickly and unexpectedly. Each stage of the game must be re-analyzed. There is no set path here. The most important thing to remember about this poker variant is to be patient and always be ready to react.
